The New England Casino Career Institute (NECCI) is dedicated to equipping individuals with the technical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to thrive in the growing gaming industry. George Agganis

George Agganis - Founder

Professional Background:

  • 18-year casino industry veteran
  • B.S. and M.S. from UNLV in Gaming Management and Hospitality Administration
  • Former Director of Operations at Chasers Poker Room
  • Opening team member at Encore Boston Harbor, managing the nation's largest poker room
  • Dealt multiple World Series of Poker events
  • Former Casino Management Professor at Endicott College
  • Trained over 500 students and employees in casino dealing

Eric Shukan

Eric Shukan - Instructor

Professional Background:

Eric holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from MIT (1989). After a 25-year career teaching Physics and Mathematics at Woburn Memorial High School, he now runs a tutoring business and plays poker semi-professionally. Known as “The Toucan,” Eric has a 35-year card-playing career in Blackjack, Bridge, and Poker. He played Blackjack professionally until 2003, retiring after being barred from over 15 U.S. casinos. Eric teaches NECCI’s Blackjack card counting class for players and casino staff.
